Digital taxi era in Istanbul: IMM launches tender for 150 new vehicles
A new step is being taken to address the taxi problem in Istanbul. A tender for 150 new taxis integrated with digital applications will be held today.
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has taken action to address the long-standing taxi shortage in Istanbul. A tender for 150 new taxis, which can only be hailed via digital applications, will be held today.
This new system offers investors a stable and predictable earnings model while standing out with its contactless payment options and transparent operations. Investors will be able to earn a fixed monthly income through regular monitoring.
Furthermore, illegal license plate rental practices in Istanbul will be brought under official record with this new model. Vehicles included in the system will undergo the Vehicle Service Quality Compliance Check (TAHKUK) audit every year. Criteria such as vehicle equipment, driver behavior, cleanliness, and application integration will be continuously monitored to maintain quality standards.
