Famous director Ezel Akay and his brother detained in drug operation

Director Ezel Akay and his musician brother Eren Kazım Akay were detained in a drug operation conducted by gendarmerie teams in the İnegöl district of Bursa.

Teams from the Bursa Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Narcotics Branch launched an investigation following allegations that cannabis was being cultivated at Akay's residence. An operation was carried out at the address under the coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Office.

It was reported that cannabis plants, believed to have been grown using a special setup, and a large quantity of kubar cannabis were seized during the search of the house. The seized substances were confiscated for examination.

As part of the operation, Ezel Akay and his brother Eren Kazım Akay were taken to the gendarmerie station to have their statements taken.

Following the procedures, the two brothers were referred to İnegöl State Hospital to provide blood and hair samples to determine whether they had used narcotic substances.

It was noted that Akay reacted to members of the press taking photos at the hospital entrance, asking, "Why are they taking pictures?" The investigation into the incident is ongoing under the coordination of the District Gendarmerie Command and the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor.
