Fire in Pendik: 3 children lose their lives
In a fire that broke out at midnight in a two-story building in Pendik, Istanbul, 3 children lost their lives, and one child was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
It was reported that a fire broke out around 02:00 in a two-story building on Umman Street in the Fevzi Çakmak neighborhood of Pendik, Istanbul. The flames, which started for reasons yet to be determined, grew rapidly.
Upon notification, police, fire, medical, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the area. While firefighters intervened in the blaze, the children, whose conditions were critical, were taken to the hospital with the help of local citizens.
It was learned that 3 of the children taken to the hospital, who were severely injured, lost their lives. While it was stated that the treatment of the other severely injured child is ongoing, it was noted that the mother was not at home during the fire.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
