In the Gönen district of Balıkesir, a young woman reported missing by her mother was found dead inside a sofa in their home; the father, who confessed to the incident, has been arrested.
A young woman was found dead inside a sofa in her home in Balıkesir.
According to the information received, police teams began an investigation following a report by Hafize Sevilen, who lives on 4016 Street in the Karşıyaka neighborhood, stating that her daughter Eylem Sevilen (18) had not returned home during the day.
Subsequently, after another relative provided information that Sevilen was lying motionless inside a sofa at the home, the teams found Sevilen there.
The body of Eylem Sevilen, who was determined to have lost her life during checks by medical teams, was sent to the Gönen State Hospital morgue following examinations.
The suspect father, Murat Sevilen (44), was taken into custody regarding the incident.
HE CONFESSED TO STRANGLING HER WITH HIS HANDS
It was learned that in his initial statement at the police station, the father, Sevilen, confessed to strangling his daughter with his hands because she wanted to go to a friend's birthday party and because he suspected she had a boyfriend.
The suspect, Sevilen, was referred to the courthouse after his procedures and was arrested by the duty magistrate's office.
