Fraud operation in 23 provinces
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 64 suspects, identified as having defrauded 14 people during operations against fraud networks conducted over the last 10 days in 23 provinces, have been apprehended.
According to information shared by Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, operations were carried out against fraud networks in 23 provinces under the coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Offices and the General Directorate of Security (EGM) Department of Public Order, by the Public Order Branches of the Provincial Police Departments in Adana, Afyonkarahisar, Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Batman, Bursa, Çanakkale, Denizli, Gaziantep, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Kahramanmaraş, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Manisa, Mersin, Niğde, Sinop, Şanlıurfa, Şırnak, and Tokat.
It was determined that the suspects posed as public officials to commit fraud and defrauded 14 citizens with the promise of selling construction rebar through fake websites. It was found that the suspects' bank accounts had a transaction volume of 1 billion 815 million TL.
As a result of the operations, 64 suspects were apprehended, 25 of whom were arrested, while judicial control measures were applied to 39 others.
