Sırakayalar Waterfall in Bayburt freezes: Postcard-worthy views emerge
The Sırakayalar Waterfall, which froze completely as thermometers in Bayburt dropped to minus 20 degrees, captivated onlookers with its postcard-like scenery in the middle of winter.
Freezing temperatures that intensified in Bayburt have covered the Sırakayalar Waterfall, which originates from the foothills of the Divanyolu Mountains and Kırklar Hill and cascades from a height of approximately 20 meters over the Kopuz Stream, in ice.
With the drop in air temperatures, the waterfall offers a "visual feast" of ice with its frozen appearance.
The Sırakayalar Waterfall, formed by the confluence of waters in the Komönü and Başçayırlar areas within the borders of Yaylalar village, takes on a different beauty in every season of the year, but draws attention with the scenery that emerges during the winter months.
Due to the heavy snowfall and harsh cold that have been effective in recent days, icicles exceeding 10 meters in length have formed at the waterfall.
Located on the historic Silk Road route between the Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia regions, the Sırakayalar Waterfall is one of the important points of nature tourism in Bayburt and is located approximately 16 kilometers from the city center.
While the waterfall hosts nature lovers with its cool waters and natural structure in the spring and summer months, it becomes a visual attraction center in its frozen state during the winter season.
