Waterfront mansions on the Bosphorus are changing hands: Record prices draw attention

The Bosphorus remains a favorite among the wealthy with its luxury waterfront mansions. In the last two months, two historic mansions have changed hands for multi-million dollar prices.

The Karacadağ Mansion was purchased for 32 million dollars by Ercüment Cafer Bayegan, known as the "petrochemical king." Meanwhile, Hamdi Ulukaya, the founder of Chobani Yogurt, joined the ranks of mansion owners by purchasing the Feyyaz Tokar Mansion for 45 million dollars.

HISTORIC MANSIONS MAKING HISTORY

The "Red Mansion" in Vaniköy finally found a new owner after a 10-year sales process. The Feyyaz Tokar Mansion, which was purchased by Ahmet Okumuş for 25 million dollars in 2012, has found a new buyer after showing a significant increase in value.

This mansion, which previously hosted Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, is back on the agenda.

MULTI-MILLION EURO MANSIONS

Other mansions put up for sale on the Bosphorus are also attracting great interest. The historic Abud Efendi Mansion in Kandilli has been put up for sale to be divided among heirs, while the Müşir Zeki Paşa Mansion in Rumeli Hisarı is drawing attention with its 120 million euro price tag.

SOME MANSIONS ARE BEING CONVERTED INTO HOTELS

Some mansions on the Bosphorus are being converted into luxury boutique hotels. The Les Ottomans Hotel, converted from the former Muhsinzade Mansion, is one of the examples of this transformation. Additionally, the new hotel built in place of the Fehime Sultan-Hatice Sultan mansions, whose shares were fully acquired by Turkish Airlines, has begun operations with 95 rooms.
