Heavy rain is making a comeback in Istanbul. According to the latest assessments by the Turkish State Meteorological Service, the megacity will spend this weekend with rain. The rainfall, expected to be in the form of showers on Saturday and Sunday, may affect both traffic and daily life.

According to meteorological data, no rain is expected in Istanbul on Friday, April 4, 2025. The air temperature will hover around 16 degrees. However, the sky will be largely covered with clouds. Friday serves as a short respite in preparation for the weekend rains.

HEAVY RAIN WILL BE EFFECTIVE

Starting from Saturday morning, rainy weather will show its effect again in the megacity. It is predicted that the heavy rain will continue intermittently throughout the day, and the rainfall will persist on Sunday. The latest forecasts from the Meteorological Service show that, contrary to the expectations of partly cloudy and sunny weather suggested by some sources in the Marmara Region, showers will be felt more significantly in Istanbul.

TEMPERATURES ARE DROPPING

The weather, which will remain mild throughout the weekend, will cool down significantly with the new week. The temperature, which will be around 18 degrees on Sunday, will drop to 10 degrees on Tuesday. This sudden change in temperature may particularly affect individuals with chronic illnesses.

Although the rain will not lose its effect completely with the new week, its intensity will decrease. Lighter rain showers and partly cloudy weather are expected towards the middle of the week.
