The statement from the Governor's Office read, "Swimming is prohibited at all coasts and beaches within the provincial borders of Giresun. Please do not enter the sea. We kindly request that our citizens comply with the ban for the sake of their own safety. Please heed the warnings. Do not risk your safety." It was stated that this decision was taken because sea conditions pose a threat to life safety.
