He killed his brother and son: New details in the family murder in Ümraniye!

In a tragic incident that took place yesterday evening in the Atakent neighborhood of Ümraniye, a man named Fatih Y. stabbed his 10-year-old son, H.Y.Y., and his brother, Metin Y., to death.

ARGUMENT TURNED INTO MURDER

The incident occurred around 21:00 at an apartment building on Güleryüz Street. According to the information obtained, Fatih Y., who had been receiving treatment for a nervous disorder for some time, began arguing with his sons at home. As the argument escalated, the father had a breakdown and stabbed his 10-year-old son. His older son noticed the situation and called his uncle, Metin Y., to ask for help. When Metin Y. arrived at the house, he was stabbed by his older brother while trying to intervene in the situation.

Fatih Y. fled the scene after stabbing his son and brother. Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. Medical teams determined that both individuals had lost their lives during their checks. Police teams cordoned off the scene and conducted an investigation. The bodies were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue. Fatih Y. was caught shortly after and taken into custody.

“HE WAS RECEIVING TREATMENT, HE WAS TAKING 5-6 PILLS EVERY DAY”

Speaking after the incident, relative İsmail Y. described what happened as follows:

"We were sitting at home. A sound came from upstairs, a noise. We opened the door, and when we opened it, he had already stabbed the child in the house. The child was probably trying to escape down the stairs... We saw it ourselves. I mean, he kept stabbing the child, the child fell. Even though he fell, he hit him again. After leaving him for dead, he went and killed his own child, the 10-year-old. After that, he just ran away. He was receiving treatment, he was taking 5-6 pills every day. When he used his medication, he was perfectly fine, there were no problems. When he didn't use his medication, he would harm his own family, he was already doing that. He also had quite a few problems with his wife. In fact, his wife was at a funeral; she had gone to Giresun for a funeral the day before. She came here in the morning before burying the deceased there. He also had quite a few problems within the family."

“THERE WAS JEALOUSY BETWEEN THEM BEFORE”

Stating that Metin Y. was a very well-loved person, İsmail Y. drew attention to the tension between the brothers:

"The brother who died was also a very well-loved child, a very good child. He was a child who helped everyone. I mean, we couldn't understand what happened. There was jealousy between them before. They didn't like each other anyway, they didn't love each other. There was such a problem between the brothers."

ARRESTED AND SENT TO PRISON

Fatih Y., who was taken into custody after the incident, was referred to the courthouse after his procedures at the police station. The suspect, who was arrested by the duty court, was sent to prison.
