In Beylikdüzü, a traffic police unit traveling on the street collided at an intersection with an illegal taxi that ran a red light.

The incident occurred in the Kavaklı neighborhood of Beylikdüzü. According to the information obtained, while a police vehicle was traveling on the street, a police officer from the Beylikdüzü Traffic Inspection Bureau, identified as O.B.B., collided with an illegal taxi driven by Kazım D., who ran a red light as he reached the intersection. As a result of the accident, the police vehicle was rendered unusable, and officers O.B.B., S.A., and female officer M.S.Y. were injured. While the illegal taxi driver, Kazım D., escaped without injury, the passengers in his vehicle, Hilal G. and her children S.G.K. and A.K.K., were injured. The moment of the accident was captured second-by-second on dashcams.

6 INJURED, INCLUDING 3 POLICE OFFICERS

Following the incident, numerous medical and police teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. The medical teams that arrived at the scene in a short time provided initial intervention to the woman in the illegal taxi, her 2 children, and the lightly injured officer O.B.B., before transporting them to Beylikdüzü State Hospital.They were taken to the hospital for treatment. The other two injured officers were taken to a private hospital in the district by a commercial taxi. It was learned that officer S.A. suffered a comminuted fracture in his arm and female officer M.Y. sustained facial lacerations, but both are in good condition.

Meanwhile, police teams launched an investigation and filed a report regarding the accident. Taking the verbal statement of the injured passenger, Hilal G., the police noted that she had arranged for Kazım D., whom she found online, to take her from Bahçelievler to Beylikdüzü for 400 liras, and that the vehicle was an illegal taxi. Following this, the police teams banned the vehicle with license plate 55 KM 240 from traffic for 60 days.

Driver Kazım D., who was reportedly caught for the second time, was fined 64,466 liras for "illegal transport," while the passenger, Hilal G., was issued an administrative fine of 2,143 liras for "traveling via illegal transport." Furthermore, Kazım D. was taken into custody, processed, and referred to the courthouse on charges of "causing injury to more than one person."
