International show of force by the Daltons: Ties to paramilitary groups revealed

The "Daltons" criminal organization, led by Berat Can Gökdemir, has carried out an internationally notable show of force. The birthday of Gökdemir, known as Can Dalton, was celebrated with Kalashnikovs in 10 countries, including Afghanistan, Syria, Iran, and Albania; in the videos, organization members expressed their loyalty to their leader. Similar celebrations were also held in İzmir and Istanbul. The footage revealed for the first time the clear relationship the Daltons have established with paramilitary structures in different countries.

KIRKLARELİ-BASED OPERATION: 18 DETAINED, 4 ARRESTED

As part of an organized crime investigation conducted by the Kırklareli Police Department, simultaneous operations were carried out against the Daltons in Giresun, Çanakkale, Istanbul, and Kırklareli.

In the raids that took place the day before yesterday, 18 suspects were apprehended for crimes including "establishing and managing an armed criminal organization," "qualified robbery," "attempted intentional homicide," "blackmail," and "drug trafficking."

Four people, including ringleader B.Y. and manager R.D.K., were arrested, while 14 people were released under judicial control. Numerous weapons, drugs, and criminal evidence were seized during the searches. It was reported that the fugitive leader Berat Can Gökdemir is being tracked in Russia.

INDICTMENT: 105 SUSPECTS, 63 ACTS, THOUSANDS OF YEARS IN PRISON SOUGHT

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office prepared a 1,676-page indictment regarding the organization in August 2025. It was stated that Gökdemir broke away from Barış Boyun to form the Daltons and played a direct role in 63 criminal acts. It was determined that the organization influences youth between the ages of 15-20 through games and series, and publishes challenge videos on social media. For the managers, 2 aggravated life sentences and prison terms ranging from 711 to 1,281 years are being requested. The case is being heard at the Istanbul High Criminal Court. In Antalya, a separate indictment against the organization includes 42 defendants; 30 of them are in custody.

MOVE AGAINST NEW-GENERATION GANGS FROM BAKIRKÖY

The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an ex officio investigation on November 17 after crimes such as armed attacks, assault, and human trafficking were published as a "price list" on social media. Instructions were given to the Organized and Cyber Crime Branches to identify the accounts. A signal was given that operations against new-generation gangs will increase.
