Istanbul Governor's Office announces: That metro line has been closed
Following the Beyoğlu District Governorate's decision to ban protests, the Istanbul Governor's Office has closed the Taksim and Şişhane stations of the M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman metro line and the Taksim-Kabataş Funicular line to passenger access. Metro trains will continue their journeys without stopping at these stations.
Following the protest ban announced by the Beyoğlu District Governorate, the Istanbul Governor's Office has made a critical transportation decision in the city. The Governor's Office announced that the Taksim and Şişhane stations on the M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman metro line and the Funicular (F1) line between Taksim and Kabataş have been closed to passenger access.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM METRO ISTANBUL
The statement issued by Metro Istanbul included the following:
“In accordance with the instructions of the Istanbul Governor's Office, our M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line's Taksim and Şişhane stations and our F1 Taksim-Kabataş Funicular Line will be closed to operations until further notice. Our vehicles will continue their journeys without stopping at the Taksim and Şişhane stations.”
