Kağıthane Creek overflows: Historic Sadabad Mosque and Mother-of-Pearl Workshop submerged

Severe rainfall in Istanbul has caused flooding in Kağıthane. As the Kağıthane Creek overflowed, the Sadabad Garden located along the creek was flooded.

It was reported that as a result of the flooding, the historic Sadabad Mosque, the Mother-of-Pearl Workshop, and a large portion of the outbuildings located within the garden were submerged.

Municipal police teams have taken security measures in the area. It is understood that water drainage efforts will begin once the intensity of the rainfall decreases.
