Landslide tragedy in Erzurum: Mother dead, 10-month-old baby missing
In the Tortum district of Erzurum, a mother died and her baby went missing after their light commercial vehicle fell into a stream due to a landslide.
The light commercial vehicle driven by Syrian national Mohamad Tarek Mhabbek was swept into a stream by a landslide caused by heavy rainfall in the Pehlivanlı neighborhood of the district.
While the driver and three other people in the vehicle managed to escape on their own, a woman and her 8-month-old baby were swept away by the current.

Upon notification, the Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and medical teams were dispatched to the region.
As a result of their efforts, the teams found the woman's lifeless body approximately 10 kilometers from the scene.
Search efforts by the teams to find the missing baby are ongoing.
