Lawyer son of a judge arrested for defrauding dozens of people
The son of a judge serving at the Bursa Courthouse, who is also a lawyer, has been arrested for defrauding dozens of people out of millions of liras with the promise of profits from new vehicle trading.
According to a report by Dinçer Gökçe from Halk TV, lawyer Yusuf Çakır, a member of the Bursa Bar Association, is at the center of a case with 52 defendants, 5 of whom are in custody, currently ongoing at the Bursa 13th High Criminal Court. Çakır, whose father is a judge at the Bursa Courthouse, also has an older brother serving as a judge in another province. The basis of the case file, in which Yusuf Çakır has been detained since October 4, 2023, is the promise he made to many people around him that 'profits could be made by trading vehicles.'
According to the case file, millions of liras entered Attorney Çakır's account. Some of the money was returned by Çakır to these individuals as 'profit shares.' However, in the final stage, it was calculated that 139 million 136 thousand 277 TL remained in Çakır's account.
