Liberia-flagged ship runs aground in Bakırköy
Rescue operations have been initiated for the Liberia-flagged container ship MSC Rhiannon, which ran aground off the coast of Yeşilköy, Bakırköy, during a change of anchorage.

The 188-meter-long vessel, used in maritime transport and anchored at the Ahırkapı anchorage, drifted off course during maneuvers and ran aground near the shore. Immediately following the incident, teams from the General Directorate of Coastal Safety were dispatched to the area.
MARITIME TRAFFIC DISRUPTED
Following the grounding of the ship, maritime traffic in the vicinity was disrupted for a time. However, authorities began rescue operations as Coastal Safety teams arrived at the scene. Maritime traffic in the area where the ship ran aground has been temporarily brought under control as a security measure.
