The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has released its weekly weather forecast for the period of October 11-17, 2026. According to the forecasts, showers and thunderstorms will be effective across Turkey throughout the week.
The precipitation is expected to be seen in specific regions during the first days and spread to most of the country as the week progresses. Air temperatures, which are initially above seasonal norms in the northern, inner, and western parts, are projected to decrease starting from Tuesday, especially in the southern and western regions.

RAINFALL TO INCREASE AT THE START OF THE WEEK
On Sunday, October 11, partly to very cloudy weather is expected in most of the country. Precipitation is forecast for the west of Mersin, the southwest of Karaman, Niğde, the south of Kayseri, the south of Şanlıurfa, and the surroundings of Gaziantep and Kilis. Fog and mist may be seen in the morning and night hours in Marmara, the North Aegean, and the Western Black Sea.
The rainy system is expected to increase its impact on Monday, October 12. Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the south and west of Marmara, the Aegean, the Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, the inner parts of the Black Sea, the south and west of Eastern Anatolia, and Southeastern Anatolia. While precipitation is also expected in the surroundings of Kocaeli, Kastamonu, Erzurum, and Ağrı, it was reported that the rainfall could be heavy in the west of Southeastern Anatolia and the surroundings of Edirne.

On Tuesday, October 13, it is estimated that the rainy weather will be effective over a wider area across the country. Showers are expected in Marmara, the Aegean, the Mediterranean, the north of Central Anatolia, the Western Black Sea, the inner parts of the Central and Eastern Black Sea, Eastern Anatolia, and Southeastern Anatolia. It was stated that the rainfall could be heavy in the surroundings of Aksaray, Nevşehir, and Kayseri, as well as the northern parts of Çanakkale and İzmir.

SHOWERS OVER A WIDE AREA AFTER MID-WEEK
On Wednesday, October 14, intermittent showers and thunderstorms are expected across the country, except for Trabzon, Rize, Artvin, Ardahan, and Iğdır. It is estimated that the rainfall will continue on Thursday, October 15, along with partly to very cloudy weather.

According to the MGM's forecasts, intermittent showers and thunderstorms may be seen across the country on Friday, October 16, except for İzmir and Aydın. On Saturday, October 17, rainfall is expected to be effective across the country, except for Şanlıurfa and Mardin.

In the weekly forecast, it is important to be careful against flash floods, inundations, lightning, local hail, and disruptions in transportation, especially in regions where heavy rainfall is expected. Officials remind that current warnings should be followed via the MGM.
