Midibus heading to a funeral overturns in Kastamonu! Dead and injured reported

The accident occurred near the Nalcıkuyucağı village on the Araç-Kastamonu highway. According to the information obtained, the Otokar-brand midibus with license plate 34 KRK 319, belonging to the Tunam Tur company and driven by Duran Arıç, which was carrying citizens from Istanbul to Sinop to attend a relative's funeral, overturned after the driver lost control of the steering wheel. A total of 24 people, including the driver, were injured in the accident. Citizens who witnessed the accident reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.

1 PERSON DIED

Upon the notification, fire, health, gendarmerie, police, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured, who were extracted from the vehicle by fire crews arriving at the scene, were handed over to medical teams. The injured, who received initial treatment from the medical teams, were taken to Kastamonu Training and Research Hospital and private hospitals in the city. Hasan Çiftçibaşı (69), one of the injured who was taken under treatment, lost his life at the Kastamonu Training and Research Hospital. It was learned that one of the injured is in critical condition.

TEAMS SEARCHED FOR THE INJURED WITH FLASHLIGHTS

Kastamonu Provincial Health Director Specialist Dr. Çağdaş Derdiyok also arrived at the scene to receive information. Gendarmerie and police teams conducted investigations at the scene. Traffic flow on the road was provided in a controlled manner. Gendarmerie and police teams searched the wooded area on the side of the road with flashlights against the possibility that there might be other injured people. Work has been initiated to lift the overturned midibus with a crane.

An investigation into the accident has been launched.
