Minister Işıkhan announces employment target of 1 million 320 thousand people

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan announced that job opportunities will be provided to 1 million 320 thousand people for the year 2025. Women, youth, individuals with disabilities, and university graduates are among the priority groups for this target.

Minister Işıkhan announces employment target of 1 million 320 thousand people

Speaking at the 'Meeting with NGOs for People with Disabilities' event held in Ankara, Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan shared the 2025 employment targets with the public. Minister Işıkhan stated that they plan to ensure the labor force participation of 500 thousand women, 500 thousand young people, 45 thousand individuals with disabilities, and 275 thousand university graduates within this year.

In this context, it was stated that various projects and support programs will be implemented to increase the labor force participation of groups such as women and youth. Minister Işıkhan drew attention to the importance of public and private sector cooperation for the realization of these targets.

Minister Işıkhan's statements are as follows:

'Labor markets across the world and in our country are undergoing a rapid transformation. Digitalization, technological developments, and global economic dynamics have fundamentally changed the nature of employment. We see that we have reached historic levels in labor force participation and employment as of March. I would like to emphasize that the active employment policies implemented by İŞKUR have been effective behind all of this.'

'WE ARE INCREASING INCENTIVES'

Stating that they are developing special projects for women to gain economic independence and for young people to bring their talents to the business world, Işıkhan said, 'We are increasing our incentives for our women to take a greater part in business life. At the same time, we have set it as a priority goal to bring the energy and dynamism of our youth into our economy.'
