New details in the father's atrocity in İzmir: He killed 3 of his 4 children and wounded one

A family massacre took place in the Bornova district of İzmir. Vesim Şimşek (45), who was learned to be a construction worker, fell into a depression after his wife, Naciye Şimşek, decided to divorce him 3 months ago.

HE TOLD THE CHILDREN "I WILL TAKE YOU TO YOUR MOTHER"

It was learned that this morning, Vesim Şimşek took his children who were living with them, Ceylin (2), Cemre (4), Nira (14), and Hira Nur (11), saying 'I will take you to your mother' and left the house, taking them to a mountainous area near the neighborhood where they lived.

There, Vesim Şimşek pulled out the handgun he had with him and began firing at his children. While the children, struck by bullets, collapsed to the ground in blood, 11-year-old Hira Nur began to run downward while wounded. As the father, who finally shot himself, also collapsed to the ground, Hira Nur, who survived the incident with injuries, reported the situation to their relatives.

THE LIFELESS BODIES OF 3 CHILDREN WERE FOUND

After 11-year-old Hira Nur reported the horrific incident to their relatives, the situation was reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, police, medical, fire, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the area. During the search conducted in the terrain by family members, neighborhood residents, and teams, the lifeless bodies of 3 children were found, while it was noticed that the father, Vesim Şimşek, was wounded. Vesim Şimşek and Hira Nur Şimşek, who survived the incident with injuries, were later taken to the hospital by ambulance by medical teams. It was learned that the health condition of Hira Nur, who was taken under treatment there, is also poor.

"A MASSACRE LITERALLY TOOK PLACE"

Mustafa Karataş, one of the neighborhood residents who was in shock when he heard about the incident, stated, "We were sleeping at home, and they said Vesim had shot his children. I got up and came to this spot, and we saw the atrocity with our own eyes. The 11-year-old child still had a pulse. We notified the authorities, we tried very hard to save her, we requested a helicopter ambulance. A massacre literally took place. Now the prosecutor has arrived and is conducting an investigation. Unfortunately, we learned that our child who is seriously injured has been intubated."

It was learned that the investigation launched into the incident is ongoing.
