Hazel Dırık Bağrıyanık, the nurse who assaulted a 5-day-old baby in Kahramanmaraş and left the infant disabled, has surrendered to police in the Dinar district of Afyonkarahisar.
The incident, which took place in 2021 at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University Health Application and Research Hospital, caused public outrage after the footage emerged.
Nurse Hazel Dırık Bağrıyanık, who assaulted 5-year-old Deniz Esin Boroklar in the intensive care unit when the child was just 5 days old, leaving the infant disabled, surrendered to the police late at night.
It was reported that Bağrıyanık's processing at the police station is ongoing and that she will be referred to the courthouse once her statement is completed.
