Rabies alarm in Hatay: 1 neighborhood under quarantine!
A neighborhood in Hatay's Kırıkhan district has been placed under quarantine after a dog that bit two people was found to have rabies.
A rabies alarm has been issued in the Kırıkhan district of Hatay.
According to a written statement from the Governor's Office, a dog belonging to Mehmet Akkuş, who lives in the Acerköy area of Çamsarı Neighborhood, bit two people aged 10 and 52.
Rabies was detected in the dog, which had been placed under observation by personnel from the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and died shortly thereafter.
Following this, the neighborhood was declared a "Rabies Risk Area" and a quarantine application was initiated.
The health status of the two individuals, who have been vaccinated and are in good condition, is being regularly monitored by the District Health Directorate and the relevant family physician.
Meanwhile, teams have hung signs reading "rabies risk zone" at the entrance and exit of the neighborhood.
