Republic Day message from the Kemalist Enlightenment Association

In a message released for the October 29 Republic Day, the Kemalist Enlightenment Association emphasized that the founding of the Republic was a victory of the anti-imperialist struggle. The association stated, "102 years ago today, the protector of the unprotected was created. Greetings to the cadres of the Kemalist Revolution, may the Republic endure forever."

The association's Press Spokesperson, Buket Müftüoğlu, stated that the association's goal is to accurately convey Atatürk's Principles and Revolutions to society and to ensure the continuity of the Turkish enlightenment. Müftüoğlu said, "The Republic was the greatest struggle for humanity ever waged against ignorance, reactionism, and exploitation."

EMPHASIS ON PROTECTING THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE REPUBLIC

The association stated that the Republic was founded under the guidance of reason, science, and free thought, and that protecting these values is the common responsibility of all citizens. "As the Kemalist Enlightenment Association, we will continue to defend popular sovereignty, secular education, gender equality, and scientific thought," it was stated.

EVENTS TO BE HELD IN ZONGULDAK

The association will celebrate the 102nd anniversary of the Republic with events to be held in Zonguldak and Çaycuma. The events titled "The Past, Present, and Future of the Republic of Turkey" will be held in partnership with the Progressive Journalists Association. The program will begin at the Zonguldak Municipality Cinema and continue at the Çaycuma Municipality Wednesday Hall. The events will evaluate the effects of the Kemalist thought system on the present day and the future of the Turkish enlightenment.
