72-year-old Hüseyin Aydın, who went missing following heavy rainfall in the Uçarsu (Çukurca) neighborhood of Trabzon's Akçaabat district on June 3, has been found after a 6-day search operation. Extensive search efforts involving AFAD, the gendarmerie, and local rescue teams were directed toward Sera Lake in the morning hours.
A citizen walking by the lake noticed an unresponsive person at the water's edge and notified the teams. Initial examinations confirmed that the person found was indeed Hüseyin Aydın, who had been reported missing. AFAD officials stated, "We wish God's mercy upon the deceased and patience for his family."
Hüseyin Aydın's body was sent to the Trabzon Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the exact cause of death. The flood disaster in the region, which saw 63 kilograms of rainfall per square meter, had caused streams to overflow, rockfalls, and landslides.
