In an incident in the İnegöl district of Bursa, an investigation was launched following allegations that a 13-year-old girl was married off for money. The incident came to light after statements made by the mother, Özlem I., during a live broadcast of the "Esra Erol’da" program on ATV. The mother claimed that her daughter was married off for money by her father, who is currently in prison. Following this confession, the İnegöl Chief Public Prosecutor's Office took immediate action.

Teams from the Child Bureau of the İnegöl Police Department detained Kamil K., who allegedly performed a religious marriage ceremony with the 13-year-old child, as well as his parents, Emrah and Elvan K. The detained suspects were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station.

The court released the three suspects under judicial control conditions. This decision caused a widespread reaction and drew criticism on social media. While the legal process is ongoing, it has been reported that the child has been placed under state protection.
