Shuttle bus overturns on Northern Marmara Motorway due to snowfall! Many injured

An accident involving a shuttle bus occurred around 04:00 on the Edirne-bound lane of the Northern Marmara Motorway in the Boğazköy İstiklal area of Arnavutköy district. The driver of the Mercedes-branded shuttle bus with license plate 34 LPT 868, identified as F.S., lost control of the steering wheel while driving on the road, which had become slippery following heavy snowfall.

The vehicle, which went out of control, veered off the road, first flipped over, and then hit the barriers before landing on its side. 11 people in the vehicle, who were learned to be employees of a private company, were slightly injured in the accident.

Upon notification, fire, medical, police, and UMKE teams were dispatched to the region. Passengers trapped in the vehicle were rescued through the efforts of the fire department. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals after receiving initial medical intervention at the scene.

While traffic flow on the motorway was provided in a controlled manner due to the accident that occurred during the night hours, the overturned shuttle bus was removed from the road with the help of a tow truck. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
