A suicide attempt on the M2 Yenikapı–Hacıosman Metro Line in Istanbul caused panic this morning.
Following a passenger's attempt to end their life by jumping onto the tracks, the Şişhane Metro Station was closed to service. While the incident caused disruptions on the line, trains are continuing their journeys without stopping at the station.
STATEMENT FROM METRO ISTANBUL
Metro Istanbul also issued an official statement regarding the development.
In the statement shared on X, it was stated: "Due to a passenger's suicide attempt at the Şişhane station on the M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line, the Şişhane station has been closed to service. Our vehicles will continue their journeys without stopping at the Şişhane station."
