The bookstore that posted 'Jews not allowed' on its door has closed

The bookstore owner who hung a 'Jews not allowed' sign at the entrance of their shop has closed down after the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) decided not to renew the lease agreement.

Istanbul Beyazıt was on the agenda after a 'Jews not allowed' sign was hung at the entrance of a bookstore located there. 

According to a report in Türkiye Gazetesi, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) decided not to renew the lease agreement with the bookstore owner who had hung a 'Jews not allowed' sign on their shop. Following this, the bookstore closed down.

The sign at the very entrance of the shop featured the text "Jews not allowed / Yahudiler giremez" in both Turkish and English.
