Following the spread of the footage on social media, police teams took action and the individuals were taken into custody.
It was revealed that the individuals, who saw the child—who is of Syrian nationality and is hearing and speech impaired—at an internet cafe, took the disabled child to an empty room and subjected him to violence. The individuals attempted to cut the child's ear and inflicted physical violence.

The individuals, who also threatened the child's older brother, sent a message saying, "If you file a complaint, we will do the same to you." The older brother then shared the footage in question on social media. At the end of the footage, it was seen that the child, who was subjected to severe blows, was bleeding from his mouth and nose.
Treating the video as a tip-off, the Esenyurt Public Security Teams took the individuals involved in the incident into custody. After their statements were taken, the individuals were referred to the courthouse.
