Tick alarm in Sivas: One more person dies, death toll rises to 8
67-year-old K.M., who was receiving treatment for Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) after a tick bite in Sivas, has passed away. The number of people who have lost their lives due to ticks in Sivas has risen to 8.
67-year-old K.M., who lived in the village of Karayakup in the Gölova district of Sivas and was engaged in livestock farming, was bitten by a tick.
After noticing the tick some time later, the mother of 7 children fell ill and was taken to the hospital.
K.M., who had been receiving treatment for Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) at Sivas Cumhuriyet University Hospital for approximately 1 month, could not be saved despite all interventions.
The elderly woman's body was sent to the Gölova district following the procedures. The number of people who have lost their lives due to Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever in Sivas this year has risen to 8.
