Tragic accident in Bartın: 5 people in car that went under truck die

According to the information obtained, 5 friends in the İnkumu district of Bartın set off toward the city center, where their homes are located, in a Dacia brand car with the license plate 74 BC 310.

The young people, who were allegedly racing with friends they encountered on the road, went under a truck with the license plate 74 DH 890 coming from the opposite lane.

In the horrific accident, 2 people in the front of the car lost their lives at the scene, while the 3 friends in the back, who were taken to Bartın State Hospital with serious injuries, passed away.

While numerous police, gendarmerie, and fire department teams were dispatched to the scene, the 2 people trapped in the vehicle were extracted with difficulty.

Bilal Yılmaz, who arrived at the scene with a hearse, learned that the person in the front passenger seat was his brother-in-law, Rahmi Can Odabaş. Yılmaz experienced great pain and waited at the scene for minutes for the body to be removed.

After learning of the tragic event, Yılmaz called his father-in-law on the phone and asked where Rahmi Can was. Upon the answer "He is sleeping at home," Yılmaz asked, "Check, is he in his bed?" When it was checked and seen that he was not there, Yılmaz delivered the painful news, saying, "He had an accident."

After Rahmi Can Odabaş's body was removed from the vehicle, Bilal Yılmaz placed it into the coffin and then into the hearse with his own hands.

On the other hand, the identities of those who died in the horrific accident have also been determined.

In addition to Rahmi Can Odabaş, Murat Can Körükçü, Koray Uğuz, Özgür Çomak, and Berkay Kaya also lost their lives in the horrific accident.

The truck driver, whose name was not disclosed, was taken into custody, and an investigation into the accident has been initiated.
