Poacher mimics mountain goat to avoid being caught
In the rural area of Kemah district in Erzincan, a poacher who hunted a mountain goat—a protected species whose hunting is prohibited—on snow-covered terrain was caught by a drone. To camouflage himself, the poacher crouched next to the mountain goat and mimicked the animal.
While a citizen was filming the snow-covered terrain with a drone in the Dereköy Plateau of Kemah district, a poacher appeared in the frame.
The poacher, who appeared next to a mountain goat—a species on the Red List of Threatened Species published by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)—tried to hide himself when he noticed the drone.
The individual stood motionless next to the mountain goat for a while and mimicked the goat.
He later tried to cover his tracks in the snowy terrain.
These moments were captured from the air.
