Road collapses in Maslak: Natural gas trapped, explosion occurs!
In Maslak, a road collapsed overnight after the retaining wall of a long-standing construction site gave way. Following the collapse, a small-scale explosion occurred 100 meters away due to trapped natural gas. Eski Büyükdere Street has been closed to traffic, and the site of the collapse was captured from the air.
The retaining wall of a construction site on Eski Büyükdere Street in Maslak, Sarıyer, which had been inactive for a long time after its foundation was laid, has collapsed.
Following the collapse of the retaining wall, the road also gave way, and police, fire department, and İGDAŞ teams were dispatched to the scene.
A small-scale explosion occurred 100 meters from the collapse site due to trapped natural gas, and İGDAŞ teams shut off the gas supply. The road where the collapse occurred was closed to traffic by the teams. There were no deaths or injuries in the incident. Damage assessment work was carried out by teams in the area where the natural gas explosion took place. Teams remain on standby as a precautionary measure in the area, which has been closed to traffic and secured. Meanwhile, the road where the collapse occurred was captured from the air.
