Worker shuttle bus overturns in Balıkesir: Many injured
A shuttle bus carrying workers overturned in the Gönen district of Balıkesir, leaving 25 people injured. It has been reported that 4 of the injured are in critical condition.
A worker shuttle bus has overturned in Gönen, Balıkesir.
The shuttle bus with license plate 10 S 29088, driven by H.D., lost control on the Gönen-Bandırma highway near the Taştepe location.
As a result of the accident, 25 people on the shuttle were injured.
It was learned that 4 of the workers, who were transported to Bandırma and Gönen state hospitals by medical teams arriving at the scene, are in critical condition.
STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR OF BALIKESİR
Balıkesir Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu made a statement regarding the accident.
Governor Ustaoğlu stated the following:
"On 13.01.2025, at approximately 08:15 in the morning, a single-vehicle traffic accident occurred in the Taştepe location of our Gönen district when a shuttle bus carrying workers lost steering control and overturned.
A total of (25) of our workers were injured in the traffic accident that occurred.
All of our workers have been transferred to hospitals, and further information will be provided as developments occur."
