10-minute fare for air taxis in China announced
Prices for short-distance air taxi services in Shanghai have been set. A 10-minute flight will cost 59 yuan (approximately 8.30 dollars - approximately 350 TL).
In the Chinese city of Shanghai, the new air taxi service introduced by the company Vertaxi attracted great attention at the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE). These fully electric air taxis can operate without the need for traditional runways thanks to vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) technology. These vehicles, which can cover half of Shanghai in just 10 minutes, take 40 minutes to cover the same distance by road.
Vertaxi officials stated that air taxi fares would initially be slightly higher than land taxis, but costs would decrease as the number of flights and routes increase. According to the company's plans, short-distance flights will start at 50 yuan, while intercity flights will start at 100 yuan.
The new generation air taxis have a capacity of five passengers and can carry five standard suitcases, each approximately 50 centimeters long. With these features, air taxis aim to offer both a fast and practical transportation solution.
