Hosted by Servet Hassan, President of the Gallipoli Commemoration Platform, the reception and ball held at a hotel in the capital, London, was attended by Türkiye's Ambassador to London Osman Koray Ertaş, Türkiye's Consul General in London Bekir Utku Atahan, and the TRNC Representative in London Çimen Keskin, as well as numerous guests and Turkish citizens.

At the event, following a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, the guests sang the 100th Anniversary Anthem together while holding Turkish flags.

"The great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk encouraged the Turkish nation with his military and political genius"

In his speech, Türkiye's Ambassador to London Ertaş expressed his pleasure at the enthusiastic celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Republic's founding at the program organized by the Gallipoli Commemoration Platform in London.

Touching upon the great struggle waged by the Turkish nation during the War of Independence, Ertaş stated that in this struggle, the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk encouraged the Turkish nation with his military and political genius.

Noting that after the victory of the War of Independence, Atatürk initiated the founding process of Türkiye, which he said was as important as the liberation process itself, Ertaş used the following expressions:

"How happy we are that as children of the Republic, as children of this country, as people who have studied in this country's schools and achieved success, we are determined to take our Republic even further, to make it strong, and just as our elders left a beautiful future for us, we are determined to leave a more beautiful future for our children. On this occasion, I first commemorate Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms, and all our martyrs who have sacrificed their lives since the founding of our Republic, with mercy and gratitude."

"The Republic is entrusted to all of us, with its women, men, youth, and elderly"

Gallipoli Commemoration Platform President Hassan also expressed her great happiness at the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Republic's founding with great enthusiasm and pride at this event held in London.

Servet Hassan continued her words as follows:

"Today our Republic is 100 years old. May it be auspicious for us all. At the end of this blessed path that started from Gallipoli 100 years ago today, our Republic was founded in Ankara with the words of the great leader, commander, and statesman Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk: 'The form of government most suitable to the character and customs of the Turkish nation is the Republic.' The Turkish nation embraced the proclamation of the Republic with great happiness, with cries of 'Long live the Republic'."

Stating that the Republic was founded by the nation hand-in-hand under the leadership of Atatürk, Hassan said, "The Republic is entrusted to all of us, with its women, men, youth, and elderly. I commemorate our great leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his heroic comrades-in-arms, our dear martyrs, and our veterans with mercy, gratitude, and respect."

Following the speeches, dinner was served to the guests, and later, Soprano Sibel Demir performed songs that Atatürk loved.

The event also featured a 100th-anniversary concert by singer Sibel Tüzün.
