3-day mourning declared in Lebanon

Lebanon has declared 3 days of mourning following the killing of the Hezbollah leader in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut.

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said in a statement that the official mourning period will begin on Monday and that flags will be flown at half-mast on public buildings.

Mikati stated that government offices will also be closed on the day of Nasrallah's funeral, while Hezbollah has not yet announced a date for the ceremony.

The leader of the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, issued a statement following the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Emphasizing that Nasrallah's death would not be in vain, Malik al-Houthi said, "These great sacrifices and great injustices will not be in vain." Al-Houthi stated that previous missile and drone attacks against Israel would be increased.
