3-time world champion driver unable to rent a car
It has emerged that Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen was not allowed to rent a car while on vacation in Portugal.
It has been revealed that Max Verstappen, who secured the 54th grand prix victory of his career in Abu Dhabi in November, was unable to rent the car he wanted in Portugal due to age restrictions.
It was stated that the car rental company Sixt did not allow Verstappen, who is a Formula 1 World Champion and drives at speeds of 321 km/h on the track, to use the vehicle because he is under 30 years old.
HIS MANAGER DROVE
It was learned that the 26-year-old Verstappen could not rent the vehicle due to the rules of the insurance policy, and his manager drove the car in his place. Sixt has given Verstappen assurances regarding his freedom to rent vehicles in the future.
According to information in the international press, although Sixt uses an age limit of 25 for car rentals, it applies a 30-year age limit for its most powerful models in terms of speed and capacity due to insurance policies.
