3-year-old child pulled alive from rubble 6 days after earthquake in Venezuela

While the 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes that occurred in Venezuela on June 24 caused massive destruction, search and rescue efforts under the rubble continue.

As hopes for those trapped under the rubble began to fade, a Jordanian search and rescue team rescued a 3-year-old child named Klieber Moran alive from the wreckage of a building called Los Corales Garden 1 in La Guaira after 6 days.

Venezuelan Interim President Delcy Rodriguez announced that 3-year-old Moran was pulled alive from the ruins as a result of intensive efforts by the Jordanian International Search and Rescue Team.

Venezuelan National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez, stating that the child is 2 years old, said, "We must hold on tightly to the hope of finding people still alive under the rubble. Early this morning, a 2-year-old boy was rescued and is currently being treated at a health center in the capital, Caracas."

Authorities reported that Moran was the only person found alive on the 6th day of the search and rescue operations.

47 tons of humanitarian aid from the UN

United Nations (UN) Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric announced in a statement that UNICEF has delivered 47 tons of humanitarian aid to Venezuela, noting that the aid supplies include emergency medical care kits, safe delivery units, newborn care supplies, and disease prevention and treatment kits.
