40-year prison sentence for former CIA agent
Former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) agent Joshua Schulte has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for leaking U.S. national security information.
The former CIA agent who leaked 8,761 documents to WikiLeaks has been sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Former CIA agent Joshua Schulte (35) was also found guilty of possessing child abuse imagery.

WHAT HAPPENED?
The former agent was accused of leaking the Vault-7 documents, which enabled the hacking and surveillance of CIA-owned smartphones.
Schulte leaked 8,761 documents to WikiLeaks in 2017.
The U.S. Department of Justice stated that this was the largest data breach in American history.
