5.2 magnitude earthquake in Ecuador
A 5.2 magnitude earthquake has occurred in the South American country of Ecuador.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the 5.2 magnitude earthquake, with its epicenter in the town of Pinas in El Oro province, occurred at a depth of 88 kilometers.
There were no reports of loss of life or property damage in the earthquake.
More than 77 people lost their lives in a 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Ecuador on April 17, 2016.
The country is located in the earthquake belt known as the "Pacific Ring of Fire," where seismic activity is intense.
