The United States Geological Survey (USGS) announced that the epicenter of the earthquake was 153 kilometers southwest of the Fakfak region.
According to the USGS, the 6.2 magnitude earthquake was recorded at a depth of 12.1 kilometers.
According to initial reports, no loss of life or property has been reported in the earthquake.
