A 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of the Mindanao region in the southern Philippines, near the Talaud Islands in Indonesia's North Sulawesi province.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was 269 kilometers off the coast of the Pondaguitan area in southern Mindanao and near the Talaud Islands.

It was stated that no loss of life or property has been reported so far in the 6.2 magnitude earthquake, which was recorded at a depth of approximately 117 kilometers.

No tsunami warning was issued following the earthquake.

The Philippines, one of the countries where seismic activity is most intense globally, is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire.
