6.6 magnitude earthquake in Tonga
A 6.6 magnitude earthquake has occurred off the coast of the Kingdom of Tonga, an island nation in the Pacific Ocean.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) announced that the epicenter of the earthquake was 154 kilometers southeast of the city of Neiafu.
No loss of life or property has been reported in the 6.6 magnitude earthquake, which was recorded at a depth of approximately 10 kilometers.
No tsunami warning was issued following the earthquake.
