Jens Laerke, spokesperson for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), shared footage of these moments on the X social media platform, stating, "Today at the UN Geneva Office, a sad and deeply distressing moment as we remember our UNRWA colleagues killed in Gaza. So far, 89 people have lost their lives. This is a shocking situation."
In a statement regarding the matter on its X social media account, UNRWA noted that the number of UNRWA staff killed in the Gaza Strip had risen to 89, stating, "This is the highest number of UN aid workers killed in a conflict in the history of the UN."
