A world first: Airline captains' voices cloned to make announcements to passengers in their own languages
Pegasus Airlines has achieved a world first by beginning to make in-flight announcements in passengers' own languages using the AI-cloned voice of a captain. The new technology is being used on flights to destinations where Spanish, Arabic, and Russian are spoken.
Pegasus Airlines has begun, as a world first, to make in-flight announcements using a cloned real captain's voice in the passengers' own native languages.
According to the statement made by the company, on Pegasus flights to destinations in countries where Spanish, Arabic, and Russian are spoken, an announcement will now be made in the relevant language using a real captain's voice cloned with artificial intelligence, following the English announcement.
The project was first implemented with the Seville flight launched on September 24, where passengers were welcomed in Spanish using the voice of a real captain cloned with artificial intelligence, and information regarding the opening of the new route was provided. The application will be implemented on all relevant flights as of the end of October.
CAPTAINS' VOICES WILL BE CLONED
Established in Silicon Valley in 2023 with the goal of signing off on new technologies and innovations in the aviation sector, Pegasus Innovation Lab draws attention as the architect of implementing voice cloning with artificial intelligence and an announcement system in different languages in the sector. The system, created by cloning the voices of male and female captains working within Pegasus, enables dynamic announcements to be made in the relevant languages specifically for each flight.
Parameters such as flight information, weather conditions, destination, captain's name, and flight duration will be updated before each flight using artificial intelligence and shared with the passengers in the announcements.
