Access to Snapchat blocked in Russia
Russia has imposed an access ban on the social media platform Snapchat, citing its use for criminal activities.
The Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) announced that Snapchat was beingused to organize terrorist acts within the country and torecruit perpetrators,and thereforean access ban has been imposed on the application.
In Russia today,additionally,the technology giant Apple's proprietary software used on its devicesThe video callingapplication FaceTime has also been blocked.
Previously in Russia, social media platforms such as Roblox, Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube, and Instagramhad also been blocked from access.
