Accusations of ceasefire violations between Russia and Ukraine
The administrations of Russia and Ukraine have accused each other of violating the 3-day ceasefire declared for the May 9 Victory Day celebrations in Russia.
On the first day of the temporary ceasefire declared between Russia and Ukraine, both sides accused each other of violating the truce.
Mutual accusations of violations were made regarding the ceasefire declared as part of the May 9 Victory Day celebrations held in Russia to mark the anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany during World War II.
In a statement from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces regarding the 3-day ceasefire declared at the call of US President Donald Trump for May 9-10-11, it was stated, "Since the early hours of the day, the number of ceasefire violations by the aggressors has reached 51."
In a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, it was said, "Despite the declaration of the ceasefire, Ukrainian forces carried out drone (UAV) and artillery attacks on our positions."
A ceasefire had also been declared between Russia and Ukraine on April 11-12 due to the Easter holiday celebrated in the Christian world. At that time, the parties had accused each other of violating the ceasefire approximately 2 thousand times.
