Ahmed al-Shara: Erdogan stood by the Syrian people

The leader of the Syrian transitional administration, Ahmed al-Shara, made statements following his meeting with US President Trump.

The leader of the Syrian transitional administration, Ahmed al-Shara, thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and US President Donald Trump.

Ahmed al-Shara's statement is as follows:

"There is no place for terror in Syria. Erdogan kept his word and fulfilled it.

I would like to thank both Trump and Erdogan very much. This decision plays a huge role in Syria getting back on its feet.

Sanctions have been lifted, a renaissance has begun. President Erdogan stood by the Syrian people; his country took on many things for 14 years.

There is no longer any place for terror in Syria. The entire population has embraced the new state.

We will not allow the division of Syria or the revival of the old regime."
